A graveside service for Frank Richards Becker, 89, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2009, in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Don Johnson will officiate. Military gravesite rites will be conducted by the Army. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
He was born Oct. 22, 1919, in Kansas City, Mo., to Guy G. and Helen Becker and died Friday, March 6, 2009, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.
He graduated from Kemper Military School and Junior College in Booneville, Mo., in 1938. He continued his education at the University of Oklahoma. In college, he was active in ROTC, Rednecks and Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He served in the Army from 1942 to 1945, developing aerial surveillance equipment. He was recalled as captain during the Korean War.
He married Bette Vadakin in 1940. They worked together at Becker One Stop, Becker Oil Company, Becker Rentals and Becker Tire Center. She died in 2007. He was a member of Central Christian Church, where he was active in Sooner Sunday school class.
Surviving are his wife, Karen, of the home; children, Steve Becker of Maumelle, Ark., and Cindy Goddard of Edmond; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bette.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love.
