Howard Hogun Nathan, 82, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009 in LaPorte, TX. He was born February 22, 1927 in Ardmore, Oklahoma Howard was a loving husband, caring father and proud patriot. He served his country honorably in World War II and in the Korean War. He was a graduate of Kemper Military Academy in Boonville, Missouri. He also attended SMU in Dallas. For forty-five years he was a State Farm Agent in the Pasadena area. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, and two sons, Darrell Nathan and Mark Nathan. Howard leaves behind to cherish his memory a loving wife of 58 years, Shirley "Punkie" Nathan, son Keith Nathan and wife Kim, grandson Brent Hayden, brothers, Vincent Nathan, Bill Nathan, cousin, Butch Polk and a host of other loved ones and friends. A visitation will be held Monday, March 9, 2009 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena. A celebration of Howard's life will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Grand View Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Ken Cooper, Brent Hayden, David Carr, Tom Greene, Ted Lewis and Steve Lawson. Honorary pallbearers will be Sal Gambino, Sam Naomi, Jim Duncan, Ron Satterlee, Dale Heiberg and Butch Polk.
